"Amnesia" is a song written by Chico Novaro and Dino Ramos, produced by Oscar Lopez and performed by Mexican singer José José.[1] The song was released as the lead single from the album En las Buenas... y en las Malas, and became his fourth number-one single in the Billboard Top Latin Songs chart.[2]
The song debuted in the Billboard Top Latin Songs chart (formerly Hot Latin Tracks) at number 17 in the week of July 7, 1990, climbing to the top ten three weeks later,[3][4] peaking at number one on September 29, 1990, holding this position for one week,[5] replacing "¿Por Qué Te Tengo Que Olvidar?" by Puerto Rican American singer José Feliciano, and being succeeded at the top by Myriam Hernández's "Peligroso Amor".[6]
